Hangar on Elmsett Airfield

Elmsett Airfield, near Ipswich in Suffolk, is home to a Shufflebottom hangar and warehouse. The steel-framed building, 54.864m by 26m, is on the rural, grass airfield. 

One of the doors, bi-parting and sliding, is 26m wide and 4m high. In addition there are three personnel doors, and a three-phase insulated up-and-over sectional door 6m by 6m. 

Side cladding is vertical Kingspan KS1000RW 0.5mm plastic-coated XL Forte insulated composite panel, with 40mm LPC approved core, on three faces. The fourth face has single-skin 0.5mm box profile.

Kingspan KS1000RW 0.5mm plastic-coated XL Forte insulated composite panel, with 40mm core, forms the roof cladding. The roof contains 36 Energysaver roof lights, each 3m long.
