Shufflebottom Managing Director, Alex Shufflebottom, has recently had the honour of showcasing Shufflebottom at a prestigious event, Welsh Steel: proud history; bright future, convened by The British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) held at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay, on Tuesday, 29th January, 2025.

Llanelli-based steel fabrication company, Shufflebottom Limited, took centre stage at a recent event in the Senedd, where industry leaders, apprentices, and policymakers gathered to celebrate the heritage and future of the Welsh steel sector.

At Shufflebottom we’re counting down the days until National Apprenticeship Week, the annual week dedicated to highlight the success of apprenticeships across the UK. Though apprenticeships matter to us every day of the year at Shufflebottom, and are at the core of our business model, Monday 10^th February – Friday 16^th 2025 will be a week-long celebration for businesses such as ours to shine a light on the positive impact apprenticeships make.

Shufflebottom is pleased to report that progress is well underway for a major rebuild and refurbishment at Ysgol Bryngwyn in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. Importantly, not only is progress well underway, but progressing well.

We are proud to be a key element in the supply chain for principal contractor, Lloyd & Gravell, of Pont-Henri, Llanelli who are delivering this multi-million project for their client Carmarthenshire County Council as part of its Modernising Education Programme in collaboration with Welsh Government’s Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme.

Shufflebottom has shown its commitment to growth and development of their team, by joining The 5% Club together with their sister company, Hambleton Steel and group, Embrace Steel.  The 5% club is an industry led initiative focused on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates, T-Level students, and sponsored students.

Shufflebottom’s on-going story of success continued in all aspects of our business throughout 2024. The countless steel-framed buildings we delivered and the tonnages of structural steel underpinned the futures of our customers in the agricultural, industrial and commercial sectors. As importantly, we continued to support charities close to home and close to our heart, and committed to Faith in Families as our chosen charity for 2024-2025.
