Proud to be part of National Manufacturing Day 2022)

National Manufacturing Day on 7th July will be an exciting day for us here at Shufflebottom. Along with a diverse range of manufacturers right across the UK, and one of four in Wales, this specially designated day will give us the opportunity to showcase our business to the local community.

It’s not long now until we will be throwing open our doors and giving a big welcome/croeso mawr to all those interested in the reality of modern manufacturing in the structural steel and steel-framed building sector.

As a long-established, award-winning, family-run business that manufactures steel-framed buildings for the industrial, agricultural and commercial sectors, we want to get the message ‘out there’ that Shufflebottom offers a range of highly-skilled and well-paid jobs and careers for school-leavers, graduates, those looking to re-skill and up-skill at all levels, as well as apprenticeships.

Shufflebottom is very much part of the Cross Hands and wider Carmarthenshire community: our years of experience has shown us the value of investing in local people and local skills not only for the benefit it brings us as a business, but for the larger positive economic and social picture it builds across our area and Wales as a whole.

So it’s open house here at HQ on the 7th when we are looking forward to engaging with students, parents, teachers, community leaders and local residents – indeed all those who want to see what goes on and learn how our business can help develop the future skills’ pipeline.

From 11.00 that day, Director, Alex Shufflebottom will be welcoming people to the factory and giving a presentation about the business that started in 1977 with an order to manufacture a gate, to the present day when it is one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of steel-framed buildings, employing 87 people and with an annual turnover of £22 million. There will be opportunity to tour the factory and see the processes involved as well as to ask any questions.
