Queen Opens Building with Skeleton of Shufflebottom Steel

Shufflebottom steel is at the heart of Cardiff University's new Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC), officially opened by Queen Elizabeth on Tuesday June 7th 2016. 

Main contractor BAM Construction Ltd opted for 100 tonnes of Shufflebottom structural steelwork, the majority of it galvanised, for the £44 million development, designed by IBI Group, on Maindy Road, Cathays. Some of the steelwork supports the timber used for special aspects of the design.
