Cycling fundraiser for Velindre Cancer Centre

There’s been a buzz in the air here at Shufflebottom HQ, Cross Hands over the last few months as Nigel Coleman, our Sales Estimator and valuable part of our #teamofsteel has been gearing up for a very important cycle ride.

As part of the Cefn Cycle Riders Group, Nigel and his fellow cycle enthusiasts have been busy training, raising awareness, selling ticket entry and attracting sponsorship for a fundraising event on two wheels in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre. The run-up to the event even got a feature on ITV Wales.

Velindre is Wales’ premier cancer centre providing treatment, care and support to patients and their families. Fundraising drives organised by groups such as Cefn Cycle Riders Group allow the Centre to provide projects over and above those provided by the NHS, including ground-breaking research, specialist nurses and staff training.

So after months of hard work, not to mention months of rain, the day finally arrived. On Sunday, 12th May, the sun smiled down on Nigel and his 44 fellow-cycling team members wearing helmets and branded T-shirts proudly sporting their logo, as they set off from Cross Hands.

The ride took them along south Wales’ National Cycle Routes and B roads to arrive at their destination (and an evening of entertainment) at Cefn Cribwr, where they were met by well-wishers.

At Shufflebottom we couldn’t be more proud of Nigel and his team. The fundraiser had set up a justgiving page with the aim of raising £3,000. As we write, the current total stands at almost £9,000 donated from almost 200 generous supporters. It is still open if you’d like to donate to this fantastic charity. https://www.justgiving.com/page/tulberini-1706256326826
