Julian Mousley & Sons Ltd. is an established Civil Engineering company based in St. Clears, Carmarthenshire, well-respected for its management of ground preparation, and construction of large, local agricultural buildings across the counties of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire in west Wales.

Many of the buildings you will see across the landscape and farms of west Wales, have had Julian Mousley & Sons Ltd at the helm advising local farmers on building types, procuring the best supplier, preparing the ground ahead of building erection, and acting as a comprehensive project manager on these large scale investments.

Shufflebottom is proud to be a preferred supplier for a client like Julian Mousley & Sons. We are delighted to have manufactured and delivered a diverse range of agricultural steel-framed buildings for Julian on behalf of his customers. They have included two buildings for Cerrigyrwyn Quarry and a Cattle Building for Mr Owens at Gellifelen Farm to name but a few.

The latest commission was for the manufacture and supply of twin-span, non-load-bearing steel-framed portals and associated concrete groundworks to Gellifelen Farm, Whitland in Carmarthenshire.

These cattle buildings were of considerable scale: portal 1 was 340ft long x 90ft wide x 18ft to eaves consisting of 17 x 20ft bays, and portal 2 was 10ft long x 66ft wide x 18ft to eaves with 15 x 20ft bays. Both portals were built to B.S 5502-22:2003 + A1: 2013 agricultural specification and CE Marked to Execution Class 2. The steelwork was shot-blast to B.S. SA2.5 and given a hot-dipped galvanised finish. The roofs were clad in natural grey fibre cement, incorporated 180 x class 3 roof lights. The sides were vertically clad with 0.5mm box profile in slate blue.
