Made in Wales; delivered to SE England

There’s nothing like the feeling of satisfaction when a customer comes back to us, time and time again, for the manufacture and delivery of one of our steel-framed buildings. Such is the case with our long-standing customer, Burden Bros Construction, for whom we have supplied many buildings, including another two recently.

Burden Bros Construction is one arm of BB4, a family-run group of companies that incorporates, farms, machinery, contractors, hospitality, agri (new and used agricultural and turf machinery sales), hospitality and construction.

The construction part of the business is a full service business with the in-house skills and facilities required to develop a wide range of programmes from green-site developments to design-and-build and/or refurbishment projects.

Based at Stockberry, Kent, Burden Bros Construction has our direct customer, Tom Foster as its Director of Operations. As a business that has grown from an agricultural background, and now with Tom at the helm, it understands the challenges today’s farms and farmers face. It’s no surprise then that Burden Bros Construction has built an enviable reputation across Kent, Essex, Surrey and Sussex for managing projects on behalf of a wide range of clients. Projects include farm buildings, livestock cattle-handling systems, grain stores, workshops and pig buildings.

With Shufflebottom’s respected record in delivering across the whole spectrum of agricultural buildings, we were Tom’s natural choice again for the latest two projects. The first of the two buildings we manufactured and delivered was an American-style barn sited at Oaklands in Ashford, Kent.  It is an impressive structure being 28.56m long x 13.09m wide x 3m to roof with a 1.22m overhang to both side elevations as well as incorporating 6 bays of 2 sizes. Just as impressive is building two, again sited at Oaklands. This is a hay and straw barn (monopitch) which is 10m long x 5m wide x 3.6m to eaves with 2 x 5m bays.

We are proud that our buildings made in Wales are now a prominent feature of the landscape of SE England. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Tom and Burden Bros in the future.
