Santa’s Helpers

At Shufflebottom we’ve been getting into the spirit of Christmas early this year: Santa’s helpers have been beavering away here on the production bench at the factory in Cross Hands, manufacturing the steel for the new agricultural building for Gower Fresh Christmas Trees Farm, ahead of its delivery and erection in time for the Christmas season.

Gower Fresh Christmas Trees Farm is situated at Poundffald Farm, Three Crosses, Swansea where owner, Mr Robert Morgan, has diversified the original farm into a complete Christmas Experience for visitors. Here visitors can roam free on the farm land, choose from a diverse range of quality Christmas trees, feed the reindeer, and visit the Christmas grotto. If they’re good, they receive a present from Santa too!

Gower Fresh Christmas Trees Farm is Wales’ largest Christmas tree grower, home to Wales’ largest herd of reindeer, and the home to Father Christmas in Swansea. The trees are regarded as the ‘freshest, greenest and healthiest.’ Nurtured for over 10 years, and felled as close to purchase as possible, they remain fresh and beautiful in homes throughout the Christmas period. Customers can choose from Fraser Firs, Norwegian Firs, Korean Firs and Norwegian Spruces among other varieties. It’s no wonder that customers come in their thousands from Swansea and the local area. But they also come from further afield, and in 2017, a Christmas Tree from the farm graced the outside of Number 10 Downing Street when Prime Minister, Theresa May, was in residence.

Shufflebottom is proud to have a building on-site there. The building is agricultural specification and CE marked to Execution Class 2. It is of considerable size: 18.3m long x 18.3m wide x 3.96m to eaves, also including a lean-to of 18.3m long x 3.95m wide x 3.95m to eaves, providing yet more space to support this thriving rural enterprise and looking aesthetically pleasing in the Gower landscape. Importantly, this purpose-built building will be home for husbandry this loved herd of reindeer, which will move in in time for their busy time of the year.
