Another Grain Store for Wallington Farms

Shufflebottom never takes its customers for granted nor assume they will come back to us for repeat business. We know our reputation is only as good as the last project we deliver and that a new building from us equates with a much-considered financial investment.

That’s why it gives us a great sense of pride to have a growing list of valued customers for whom we are now the natural choice to manufacture and deliver a steel-framed building constructed to their exact specification. Such is the case with Mr A. Watts of Wallington Farms in Hertfordshire who has just commissioned his seventh agricultural building from us in as many years.

Mr Watts is a respected figure in the agricultural sector, responsible for 2,500 hectares of farmland in the Home Counties; an arable crops’ specialist who has advised the EU; a former board member of BASIS Registration; and ex-Chair of NFU’s combinable crops’ commission. At Wallington Farms he produces wheat, barley, oil seed rape, peas, beans and oats – mostly for local processing, including maltings.

Not surprising then that it was another grain store that Mr Watts required as his business grew. He came back to us automatically “because of the quality of construction” as well as “being able to deal with the same site surveying and construction team for the whole job from start to finish and having a good rapport with the company.”

The latest grain store is 24m long x 19m wide and 6m to eaves. The building incorporates 1 louvre side and a roof which accommodates solar panels on the south side. The roof is unobtrusively clad in Natural Grey P6R Cement and the sides are clad in Vertical 0.5mm Shufflebottom 1000/32 Plastic Coated Forward Box Profile.

Mr Watts at Wallington Farms is yet another satisfied customer in the agricultural sector in SE England, perhaps because, as Shufflebottom Director, Alex Shufflebottom says:

“We construct grain stores of any and all sizes to suit customers’ exact requirements. It’s about delivering what our customers want – that’s what makes us successful.”

As well as grain stores, we supply a range of steel-framed buildings to our customers in the agricultural sector including, but not confined to:

  •  Equestrian buildings

  • General-purpose buildings

  • Hay and straw barns

  • Livestock units

  • Milking parlours

  • Pig units

  • Sheep housing

  • Vegetable store
