Delivering for Eurobale – a thoroughbred business!

Over the course of our many years supplying steel-framed buildings and structural steel for clients in the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors, we have had the pleasure of discovering so many interesting businesses and learning about their unique enterprises. Some will stick in our minds for a long time.

Such is the case with our clients CG & RD Brooks of Eurobale, Manor Farm, Widmerpool in Nottingham for whom we have recently manufactured, delivered and erected a steel-framed building supplied to Agricultural Specification.

Eurobale is a leading UK supplier of haylage and hay to a huge cross-section of the equine industry, including some of the largest thoroughbred studs in Newmarket as well as haylage supplies to large government organisations such as the London Metropolitan Police.

Operating since 1994, they are today the largest big bale haylage producer in the UK and are proud that their sole activity is the growing, manufacturing and distribution of its haylage products: all the grass is grown from seedling and not bought in from suppliers. They produce over 10,000 tons per year.

This track record of product ownership and traceability and their commitment to reducing their environmental impact, with its impressive results in recycling plastic waste, led them to achieving Royal Warrants under the late Queen Elizabeth 2. In 2010, they received the first for the supply of haylage to The Royal Stud at Sandringham, and in 2014, they received the second for their supply of forage to The Royal Mews.

Shufflebottom is therefore proud to be associated with Eurobale and to contribute a small part to their future development at Manor Farm. The new agricultural building is free-standing and non-load-bearing, measuring 100ft x 50ft x 20ft to eaves with a 15 degree pitch and incorporating 5 x 20ft bays. The roof is clad in Natural Grey P6R Fibre Cement with closed ridge and sides are clad in Vertical Juniper Green 0.5mm Plastic Coated Box Profile. Each of the two ends incorporates two Gable Columns of 254 x 146 x 31 Kg/mU.B.

We are also proud of our similar business values to those of Eurobale which we believe are also integral to our success and longevity (established 1977) in the steel-framed buildings’ market.

Like Eurobale, Shufflebottom knows that our product is not necessarily the cheapest on the market, but we believe our customers buy into the value not the cost and that we aim to provide the highest standard in terms of:

  • Quality of product

  • Quality of delivery service

  • Quality of customer service

  • Continuity and guarantee of supply

Testament to this ethos is the fact that today, forty-seven years after establishing our business, Shufflebottom is recognised as a leading UK supplier of steel-framed buildings to the diverse needs of the agricultural sector, including those such as Eurobale.
